How to send a client-ready website health report
Run SiteCheck, fix what you own, then share the plain-English report so the client sees defects without a raw crawl dump.
Agencies and freelancers often need proof that a site was checked, not a spreadsheet of HTTP codes. SiteCheck (opens in a new tab) returns a plain-English report covering broken links, page errors, redirect defects, missing SEO basics, and SSL warnings. Free covers a one-off scan of up to 25 pages with no account and no card. Paid plans add scheduled scans and, on Agency, client-ready reports and CSV.
Before you send anything
- Confirm the crawl scope matches what you promised (homepage only vs key templates vs a deeper sample).
- Fix the defects you are paid to own, or label the rest as recommendations.
- Re-run the scan so the report matches the live state you are handing over.
For a fuller pre-handoff checklist that also covers Mortise and SignalWatch, see website health check before client handoff.
What belongs in the client note
Keep the note short:
- What you scanned (URL and approximate page count).
- What is fixed vs still open.
- What you will watch next (new broken links with Mortise (opens in a new tab), or important public URLs with SignalWatch (opens in a new tab)).
Do not invent uptime percentages or SEO rankings. Stick to what the report lists. More on coverage: what a website health report covers.
When Agency is worth it
Use Agency when you need client-ready exports and a larger site count. Starter and Pro still suit a single retainer with weekly or daily scans. Pricing and limits live on the SiteCheck pricing page (opens in a new tab). For a wider stack across clients, see agency website monitoring stack.
